Our School in Quito
Quito, nested in beautiful Andean valleys and surrounded by mountains and snow peaks, is a Cultural Heritage Site and the host city of the school. This is a picturesque and diverse city where you can discover Colonial treasures in the Old Town and enjoy the night life of a modern metropoli. Quito is also an excellent and convenient location to organize different trips around Ecuador. From it you can visit tourist sites in the jungle, coast, or highlands, as well as to take a flight direct to the famous Galapagos Islands.
The school is located just in the heart of the new town, in a quite residential neighborhood. From it there are few steps to Ecovía, one of the main public transportation systems in the city; two blocks to Carolina Park, few steps to Shopping Centers, banks, embassies, and restaurants.
Programs offered in Quito:
Spanish immersion
In our school there is the possibility to take lessons on one to one or group basis (maximum of five participants per classroom). In the first case the students are allowed to take from 4 to 7 hours per day, while in the group instruction there are four hours sessions per day. After a placement test, and based upon availability, students will be accommodated in one of the eight levels that this program has.*
The courses start every Monday all year round.
*In case we don’t reach our minimum number of students per class in your ability group, your lessons will be replaced with 15 hours of private one on one lessons.
Spanish and culture
This program is designed to take advantage of the cultural and tourist city of Quito, Cultural Heritage Site. The participants study Spanish one on one with an experienced professor during the mornings (20 sessions per week) and explore with the teacher the city and its sites in the afternoon (10 – 15 hours per week). In this way, participants will be able to combine formal but dynamic class-instruction with cultural and tourist excursions in Quito and surroundings. All entrance fees and public transportation are included in the prices of this program.
Spanish and volunteer work
This program is designed to combine the Spanish lessons with a voluntary position. Our students can choose between different projects in the social or ecological fields. In the second case the most of the projects are allocated out of the city and the where the participant usually lives. The volunteering can be done at same time that the participants take the Spanish instruction (social projects) or after they have finished it.
* Some of the social projects ask for a small monetary contribution and the most of the ecological projects for volunteers ask for a payment oriented to cover the lodging and meals.
DELE Preparation program
A specialized course to prepare students for the internationally recognized D.E.L.E. exam of Spanish proficiency. The school has ample material designed specifically to prepare students to take the exam at all levels. Amongst our resources, we have official D.E.L.E. workbooks, exercises, cassettes, and practice exams. This program is developed in one to one basis.
The courses start every Monday all year round.
Medical Spanish
This program combines medical Spanish instruction with two weeks of half day of clinical observational rotations, customized to the interest of each participant. The program is open for all health related field students and professionals issues: nurses, dentists, doctors. To improve the cultural experience this program is offered with host family accommodation.
